Alison Walsh

Alison is an experienced triathlete and swimming coach with many years of experience helping children and adults hone their swimming skills. A seasoned swimming instructor, her knowledge and skills are also underpinned by years of competitive swimming.

In 2022, she qualified for the Team GB Triathlon squad and she loves nothing more than putting herself through the grueling swim, bike, run routine as often as possible.

As a junior swimmer Alison competed internationally, including in Egypt, where she placed third in the International Schools Championships at the 50m front crawl, and in Belgium, where she achieved silver in the 100m front crawl at the Junior Nationals.

Alison loves to share her passion for the water with others, enabling them to reach their full potential and achieve goals they never thought possible.

She has run her own swim school and worked at some of the UK’s most prestigious health clubs. In addition to GoggleSquad, she works at Third Space in Wimbledon, where she advises everyone from beginners to elite-level athletes how improve their swimming, running and cycling.

Alison’s main interest outside of the pool is training for triathlons and all that comes with it - from weekly swims in the lake to fast rides and long social ones, plus the occasional half marathon to boost her running fitness.

It’s not all about physical activity for Alison - she’s a devoted mum who loves spending time with her family and is also a fully trained interior designer who enjoys helping friends and family with their home improvement projects.

As someone who has recently battled back from injury, Alison’s top tip for aspiring swimmers is aptly about resilience and determination: “Don’t give up. Becoming one with the water is the most challenging, yet the most important aspect of swimming, and that can be achieved by simply spending more time in it!”
