Looking for a fast way to improve swimming skills? Our swimming crash courses in the school holidays offer an intensive, results-driven solution.

The intensive crash courses, which comprise of a block of four lessons at the same time each day, are designed to fast track learners’ skills in a short time. 

The courses help learners make rapid progress and master specific swimming skills fast. Crash courses are available in our fantastic pools at Feltonfleet School in Cobham and Latchmere School in Kingston upon Thames and can be booked on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis.

Who are our swimming crash courses for?

Our swimming crash courses are for children aged from around 3 years and up and cater for all learners regardless of skill level. Whether it’s mastering the basics for absolute beginners or developing specific strokes or skills for intermediate or advanced swimmers, the intensive nature of the lessons means that your child will learn new skills quickly whilst getting active and having fun in the school holidays.

How long do swimming crash course lessons last?

The 30-minute lesson slots run from early in the morning to around midday. Once booked on a course, every learner’s lesson will take place at the same time each day. 

When are swimming crash courses available?

Our swimming crash courses take place during most of the main school holidays including:

  • October half term

  • Easter holidays

  • May half term

  • Summer holidays

Lessons are booked as a four-day block, usually starting on a Monday unless there is a bank holiday, when they start on the Tuesday.

How much do swimming crash courses cost?

Swimming crash courses in Cobham

Our intensive swimming courses in Cobham take place at Feltonfleet School. The 15 x 7.5 metre pool is heated to 32°C and has diving blocks and racing lanes as well as submersible platforms for younger learners.

With a metre-deep shallow end and 2.19 metre deep end, the pool is perfect for all skill levels. There are spacious male and female changing rooms conveniently close to the pool area and parking is easy, with ample space available in the car park opposite the swimming pool complex.

Course Details:

  • Our crash courses typically run for four consecutive days, with each session lasting 30 minutes.

  • Most of our crash courses include four lessons, but we occasionally offer shorter or longer programs depending on demand.

  • Lessons take place daily at the same time, ensuring consistent learning and progress.

  • This depends on your level, but in general:

    • Beginners: Water confidence, floating, basic strokes

    • Improvers: Stroke development, breathing techniques, endurance

    • Advanced: Stroke refinement, diving, turns, and stamina

  • Every swimmer progresses at their own pace. However, daily practice means many beginners gain confidence within the week, and improvers often make noticeable improvements in their technique and stamina.

  • All lessons are led by qualified, experienced, and fully insured swimming instructors.

  • Yes, all our instructors hold nationally recognised teaching qualifications and are fully insured.

  • We maintain a low instructor-to-swimmer ratio and follow strict safety guidelines. All of our instructors have either passed their water safety or lifeguard certification. 

  • Our instructors specialise in building confidence in the water through gentle, patient teaching methods.

  • We’re unable to offer discounts for multiple bookings or siblings.

  • Unfortunately, missed lessons cannot be rescheduled due to our structured format. However, we can ensure you receive guidance on what was covered so you can practice outside of lessons.

  • We have a no-refund policy once a course has started.

For Children:

  • Yes! Our crash courses are perfect for children as young as 3 years old. We ensure a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment.

  • We cater to children from 3 years and up, grouping them by age and ability to ensure appropriate learning.

  • Yes, we ensure we have a good understanding of a child’s swimming ability at the start if they are in a 2:1 lesson, they will be with a learner of a similar ability.

  • Yes, one parent or carer can watch and support their child’s progress.

  • We recommend a well-fitted swimsuit, goggles, a swimming cap and a towel for after lessons. We provide any necessary teaching aids, such as kick boards and floatation devices.
