Juliette Piesley

Juliette is a highly experienced Level 3 swimming teacher and coach who has been teaching children and adults in Surrey how to swim for more than 30 years.

Swimming has always been a significant part of Juliette's life. As a child, she competed with Staines Swimming Club and has continued her passion for competitive swimming as an adult.

A fellow of the Amateur Swimming Association, Juliette competes for Teddington Swimming Club Masters. She trains twice a week and regularly participates in competitive events.

When Juliette isn't providing expert swim teaching in Surrey's pools, she’s also a qualified open water coach and can be found teaching and enjoying open water swims in lakes, rivers, or the sea. Her dedication to swimming was evident when, to mark her 50th birthday, she trained every day at Hampton Pool before taking part in a gruelling 50km swim over five days in Heron Lake, Wraysbury, to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.

Juliette believes that swimming opens doors to numerous opportunities. Her top tip for new learners is to focus on aquatic breathing and sculling before moving onto the limb coordination needed for learning the swimming strokes. “When it all comes together it just clicks and as a teacher, that is the most rewarding sight to see, with the happiness in the face of the swimmer. It gives me immense pride,” says Juliette.

In addition to her commitment to swim teaching in Surrey, Juliette enjoys walking her three dogs and spending precious time with her family. To maintain the strength and flexibility needed for competitive swimming, she also engages in regular yoga sessions.

For those seeking professional and passionate swim teaching in Surrey, Juliette brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a genuine love for the sport.
